What is ICF Construction?
ICF stands for Insulated Concrete Formwork (or Insulating Concrete Forms).
It’s a modern construction technique where hollow blocks or panels made of rigid insulation (usually expanded polystyrene, EPS) are stacked like giant Lego bricks to form the shape of a building’s walls. Once in place, they are filled with reinforced concrete, creating a structure that is:
- Extremely strong and durable (because of the concrete core).
- Highly insulated (because of the foam panels).
