My Little Home is a housing news, information and analysis website. Our primary goal is to make Ireland’s housing debate easy to understand for ordinary people, while we explore practical, evidence-based ways to increase housing supply.

We believe one proposal worthy of serious consideration is expanding direct State housing delivery to complement private development. This includes exploring whether part of Ireland’s €14 billion Apple tax windfall could be used to achieve this.

We believe this would help to ensure that Ireland has a balanced, resilient housing system that consistently increases housing supply while allowing local authorities, AHBs, private developers, contractors and SME builders to contribute where they are most effective.

If you are a young adult locked out of home ownership, a family trying to support the next generation, or even an older reader exploring downsizing or self-builds, our goal is the same – to make housing more accessible, practical, and fair.

Finally, we also advocate for alternative living (tiny, mobile, etc), modular and other modern methods of construction until the Oireachtas approves more frameworks that adopt them as core policy for faster, fairer housing delivery.
